• The Time is Now

Marking the height of a child on the wall is a good way to show growth. A child can’t see themselves grow, neither can we as adults.

It’s the same with spiritual growth. Setting goals is important and helps us grow. But sometimes we are distracted by focusing on the future too much, (or remembering the past.)

Being in the “present” is where we meet with our Lord and Savior Jesus.

If we only look forward to our daily meals that we are going to eat, but never sit down and eat them, we never get filled with the nutrients we need.

Knowing we need to read our bible and pray daily but never actually doing it, we miss out on the blessing of getting to know Jesus. – Be willing to eat the bread of life.

Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him.

John 6:35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.

  • Clarity in Crisis

Stopping to fix a flat tire on the road to a highly anticipated vacation can really squelch the excitement. It can even bring anger and resentment which might be directed toward your loved ones who are feeling the same way.

Learning to relax in the crisis can help you deal positively with the situation. Maybe after the flat is fixed, before dashing off, back to the highway, take a walk with your family. Explore the surroundings you find yourself in.

You might find a fresh new view of God in His majesty from a mountaintop that was hidden from the main highway.

Or you might find a secluded pond filled and surrounded with wildlife. And together experience nature in a peaceful new way.

Sometimes God uses moments like these to help us focus clearly on what is important to Him.

Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

  • Finding the Light

Psalm 85:11 – Truth springs from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven.

Ever see the stony ground or pavement with a thin crack in it, and a flower jutting out of that tiny, thin opening?

That flower was determined to come through somewhere, to find an opening to break through to the sunlight, it knew was up there somewhere. It searched in that dark earth not knowing exactly where it was going, or what was ahead. It just new it had to keep going, searching in the dark.

Then, in a moment of clarity, it sees the light, through a small crack. Immediately the purpose is clear, the path has been discovered and the way out has arrived. All energy now is focused on that point.

The thin stem reaches up into the light and begins to grow. Higher and taller as the nourishing sun feeds the hunger it didn’t even know was there. Then the rain falls softly, and the blooming begins. The flower has found its purpose at last.

Jesus said to him “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” John 14:6.

We have a Hope, and we are His, let us never forget or lose heart.

  • Trust In God’s Plan

I woke up at 4:00 AM with this idea and decided to start writing.

You know how you drive past a future site of a new complex or company being constructed? The first stages are messy, and there is lots of confusion to the onlooker.

The ground is all moved around. Big trucks hauling things back and forth. Construction equipment in place and strange contraptions set up. Red safety fences are all around to protect wandering pedestrians and to stop anyone who wants to steal equipment or tools.

Your impression as you drive past is, “What a Mess!” You wonder if the contractor knows what he is doing, because it looks very confusing to you.

But there is a blueprint or a vision that someone had and laid out ahead of time. Right now, it looks like a mess to you, and you are probably confused by what you see.

God has a vision, and His plan is completely laid out. No matter what it looks like to us, trust Him. His goal is confusing to us because we can’t see everything like He does.

If we work as a team, each one doing their job, no matter how small or insignificant. Or how big and moving it is. Eventually God will work it all out. One day it will be completed. The exciting opening day will come.God’s kingdom Come; God’s will be done!
